At Open Road Stage, we believe theatre should be bold, original, and accessible to all. Founded in New York City in 2025, our mission is to produce one-act plays that feel immediate, intimate, and alive. From our very first performance at the Producers Club to our upcoming productions streaming online, we’re reimagining what Off-Off-Broadway can look like.

But we’re not just building theatre — we’re building community.

Our plays are performed live in Midtown Manhattan, but they’re also streamed free on Substack, open to anyone, anywhere in the world. That means you don’t have to live in New York or buy an expensive ticket to be part of the experience. You can tune in from home, watch in real time, and feel the same energy as the audience in the room.

This approach is new — Open Road Stage is among the very first theatre companies to bring live Off-Off-Broadway directly to Substack. We’re excited to pioneer this path, but more importantly, we’re excited to share it with as many people as possible.

We also believe that theatre only thrives when artists thrive. That’s why a portion of everything we raise goes directly to paying actors fairly for their time and talent. Grassroots theatre can’t succeed without the dedication of the performers who bring these stories to life, and fair pay is at the center of our mission.
